Being a collective, bluemouth inc. creates new work with an ever growing group of associate artists. These associate artists are involved in all aspects of the performance creation process.

ASSOCIATE ARTISTS and CORE MEMBERS:

Associate Artist: Daniel Pettrow is an associate with The Wooster Group in NY, where he is currently performing in their production of HAMLET. Daniel has acted in over 55 professional productions at National and International theaters. He works closely with French director Arthur Nauzyciel (Artistic Director of The National Drama Center of Orleans), having performed the lead roles in Bernard Marie Koltes’ BLACK BATTLES WITH DOGS and ROBERTO ZUCCO. Daniel has also worked closely with German director Walter Asmus (Beckett’s longtime collaborator) performing Lucky in WAITING FOR GODOT. Daniel was a co-founder and co-director of The Ballroom Studios (1996-2003) in Atlanta, GA, an alternative art space catering to innovative visual and performing arts.

Bruce Barton works a dramaturg with many physically-based and devising performance companies, such as Number Eleven, Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, Zuppa Theatre Co. and Bluemouth, Inc. He is also an award-winning playwright whose drama has been produced across Canada, nationally broadcast on CBC radio, and included in published anthologies. As director, recent projects explore the potential of aerial performance in devised theatre. Bruce also holds a Ph.D. in Theatre and Film, and is a faculty member at the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama at the University of Toronto, where he teaches playmaking, dramaturgy, devising, and intermedial performance. Recent books include Collective Creation, Collaboration, and Devising (2008) and Reluctant Texts from Exhuberant Performance: Canadian Devised Theatre (2008), and he recently co-edited (with Ker Wells) a theme issue of Canadian Theatre Review on devising.
