Your deposit will be reimbursed in full if you cancel before May 1st. The balance is due on the first day of the workshop. Please arrive a half hour early (9:30AM) on Monday, May 28th to register. There will be two breaks, so you may want to bring snacks and water. In accordance with bluemouth’s aesthetic the space is raw, the floors uneven, it is advisable to wear layers of unrestrictive clothing and shoes you can move freely in. The first half of the day will focus on learning and developing compositional skills from the disciplines of Dance, Theatre, Film and Sound through group improvisations as well as demonstrations of media integration led by bluemouth company members. The second part of the day, we will be split into groups, with each group including a bluemouth member. Together we will use the tools and materials explored in the mornings to collectively build a short interdisciplinary piece over the course of the five days. The pieces will be performed (informally) for each other on the last day of the workshop. We will use the site-specific location, film and sound samples provided by bluemouth inc., and text and movement generated through the workshop. The space will be open every morning at 9:30 for you to come in and warm-up, stretch, dance, use equipment... Feel free to bring your favorite CDs. The workshop will begin promptly at 10AM. |
