" ...one
of the most intimate works of
the year. A company to watch, for sure.
Even without comfy seats to sit on."

American
Standard American Standard is a one-man, seven character
sideshow about the pursuit of happiness in the age of lost innocence. collectively created by Bluemouth
Inc. Presents
performed by Stephen O’Connell
music performed by Richard Windeyer American
Standard is seven archetypes of
the American dream. A preacher, a tourist, a politician, an entertainer,
an immigrant, a poet and a terrorist,
inhabit this storefront installation, spilling onto the street and lurking
within the basement. A psychological journey through the emotions that
shape our lives- told with intensity and pathos. A stream of visual images
strung together by a wire of hope and worn upon a gesture of song. American
Standard is theatre, it is dance, it is a telling portrait
of the 20th century seen through blue collar glasses, expressing the
dreams
and misperceptions of seven souls earnestly in search of guidance. "Stars dotted about the evening sky
delineating a constellation worthy of modern mythology."
~the poet American
