something about a river is a performance installation in three parts, with each part taking place in a different season and at a different location along the buried Garrison Creek in the western part of the city. Using the underground river as a metaphor for all that lays dormant in an overly civilized society, something about a river explores various angles on the notion of ambivalence. Part One: The Fire Sermon, exploring sexual ambivalence, will take place this summer near the upper part of the creek in the Metro XXX Theatre on Bloor Street West. This is to be followed by Part Two: Death By Water in the winter, near the middle of the buried creek, and in the spring of 2003, Part Three: What the Thunder Said will happen at the bottom end of the creek. The culmination of this exploration will be journey down the river through all three locations, in the fall of 2003. a personal note from bluemouth inc: something about a river is perhaps the most ambitious bluemouth undertaking to date. The completed work will not be presented in its entirety until the fall of 2003. With this in mind, we invite you to collaborate in the yearlong process by not only coming to experience the work but also by giving us your feedback. Bluemouth inc aspires to create work that is relevant and meaningful for audiences today, and it is your input that will help us to achieve that. |
